Step with us into the time vault and sample a 1976 THIRD WORLD LP  - featuring REGGAE VARIOUS ARTISTS. A 10 track treat where  side one is instrumental and side two is vocal.  Buggis is the main attraction on this album featuring three beautiful instrumentals by him. 






Third World is a Jamaican reggae fusion band formed in 1973. Their sound is influenced by soul, funk and disco. 




Third World is one of the longest-lived reggae bands of all time, and one of Jamaica's most consistently popular crossover acts among international audiences. While the band was long capable of authentic roots reggae, they usually preferred to mix in elements of ReB, funk, pop, and rock (and, later on, dancehall and rap). 





Purists often criticized their music as tame and polished, overly beholden to commercial concerns. 




Indeed, they were regular visitors to the American and British charts during the '80s, but the best of their output was undeniably satisfying on a creative level as well.

Jah Screw started in the music business in the second half of the 1970s working as a selector on the Echo Vibration, Ray Symbolic, and (U-Roy's) King Stur-Gav Hi-Fi sound systems. By 1980, he had begun working as a record producer, initially working with his friend from sound system days, Ranking Joe, and they set up the Sharp Axe label together.  The success from the label, with hots such as "Ice Cream Style" and the album Armageddon, was enough encouragement for Jah Screw to set up his own label, Time One Records.
