New York, NY — Fresh off the release of his new album
Lottery, global reggae icon Shaggy brings an all-star lineup to Central Park for Shaggy's Yaad, a free, all-ages concert celebrating the power of Caribbean music and culture. The show takes place July 9 from 7:00–10:00 PM (doors at 6:00 PM) as part of Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage's landmark 40th anniversary season, hosted by VP Records in partnership with Shaggy’s Boombastic Radio (SiriusXM Channel 332 and on the SiriusXM app).
The night will feature performances by special guest Robin Thicke, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Rayvon, Nowa Powah, NESTA, Amber Lee, Mathew Malcolm, and Shuga, with DJ sets from Tropical Blendz and Afrique, and hosting by DJ Norie, Roxy Romeo, and Li'l Nat and other surprise guests. Many of these artists appear on Shaggy’s recently released album, Lottery, with the stage serving as a live extension of the album's collaborative spirit.
Shaggy's Yaad draws its name and soul from the Jamaican concept of yaad , home a place where community gathers, stories are shared, and music moves freely across generations. That ethos runs through everything: the genre-spanning lineup, the open-air Central Park setting, and Shaggy's enduring role as a global ambassador for Jamaican and Caribbean culture.
In a city as culturally rich as New York, Shaggy's Yaad is a natural fit, and on July 9, Central Park will be everyone’s yaad!
