Silver Birds Records keeps the Air Force Riddim in the same hard-edged lane that has marked much of its dancehall work, but this one comes with a cleaner, flashier attitude. The title alone points to sneaker culture and status talk, and the cuts circle confidence, money, style, and street credibility rather than anything soft or sentimental. It is the kind of juggling made for selectors who want a sharp hook and a riddim that moves with enough space for each voice to land.
The lineup is strong in a very current dancehall way: 10Tik, Delly Fever, Iwaata, Laden, Likkle Addi, Likkle Vybz, Rajahwild, and Vybz Kartel. 10Tik has been one of the louder new-school voices out of Jamaica, known for a raw, gritty delivery and streetwise phrasing. Iwaata comes from Kingston and has made his name with catchy, local, slang-heavy dancehall. Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz bring the Kartel-family link and that youthful, swaggering energy. Rajahwild has become a force in the newer hardcore wave, while Laden remains a dependable voice for tough, direct dancehall talk.
The strongest pulls here are the attitude records. “Confident, ” “White Air Force, ” and “10 Outta 10” fit the fashion-and-flyness concept neatly, while Vybz Kartel’s “Family (Have Meaning)” adds a more reflective note to the package. Silver Birds Records has been leaning into lean, bass-heavy dancehall projects for years, and Air Force Riddim keeps that formula moving with a bright, street-level finish.
