Sierra Leone to Host First-Ever One Nation Reggae Festival to Celebrate Caribbean Heritage

The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has announced the launch of the inaugural One Nation Reggae Festival, a new cultural event aimed at highlighting Sierra Leone’s Caribbean ancestral connections and promoting cultural fusion.

The festival is scheduled to take place from November 25 to November 30 and will incorporate activities such as brunch events, bonfire nights, and storytelling sessions.

According to the Ministry, the week-long celebration will serve as a platform to showcase Sierra Leone’s rich cultural heritage, historical monuments, and relics. It will also promote the country’s creative industries, including music, crafts, and cuisine, while offering increased visibility to local artists and cultural practitioners.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen ties with the Caribbean community and expand cultural tourism in Sierra Leone.

The Ministry says the One Nation Reggae Festival will play a key role in celebrating shared history, enhancing tourism appeal, and boosting economic opportunities for those in the cultural and creative sectors.
